Some of the bit sizes are not so obvious to tell apart, especially the smaller AWG’s.

By color coding the shanks, we don’t leave anything to question when it comes to each of the 7 drill diameters required to machine your new 80% MUP. You’ll no longer have to pull out your micro-gauge calipers and a conversion chart to figure out which bits are which sizes. Simply look at the shank color and reference the included color key, then get to drilling…

Additionally, each bit is now configured with a drilling depth guide, indicating when you should stop drilling.

As your drilling down, once the bottom of the depth indicator begins to pass the top of the jigs surface, you will want to consider stopping. This aids in preventing you from over-penetrating the MUP more than necessary but still completing the hole. It is intended as a guide- and you should still verify the plunge depth and stops on your drill press… Drilling down more than necessary here only wears out your drill-bits much faster. Even so, you will typically still drill into the jig top plate / wedge some- but that is normal (in order to fully drill out the MUP holes) But use of the guide ‘stop’ indicator will make your tool investment last much longer. (indicator guide tested to +/-.0725” penetration beyond MUP bottom edge)
